Casting Division History

.....Abraham (Avrom) Schwartz was a pioneer in the foundry industry and formed Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry in 1908. It was started as a small brass and aluminum foundry with 10 employees. Some of the oldest patterns were for parts of the Kissel automobile, which was manufactured in Hartford, Wisconsin in the 1920's. The Kissel car was the first to use aluminum casted cylinder heads and crank cases. (A model of the Kissel car is on display in our Home Office in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.) Bronze castings were produced for motorized pumps used in World War II submarines also made here in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

.....Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry is now one of the largest nonferrous foundries in the United States and is still owned and operated by the Schwartz family. Nonferrous casting are produced for numerous manufacturing concerns throughout the United States.

.....Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry has a proprietary line of cookware products - ALL-AMERICAN® Pressure Cookers and CHEF'SDESIGN® Cookware. All production and assembly takes place in our Manitowoc facility.
